REMOVAL OF FUEL SUBSIDY THE BEST OPTION FOR NIGERIA

It’s a sad story that most Nigerians lack good information and skills of a rational consumer which push them into following selfish leaders to campaign against the removal of fuel subsidy.

Economically, the removal of subsidy will increase revenue for the country as about N16.4 billion used to subsidies petroleum price every month can now be used to aid capital project giving room for social development.

Secondly with the upper benchmark of N145 per litter placed on petroleum pump price, opens the marketers into high level of competition as individuals now have the right to import petroleum and sell based on convenient price but not more than N145 per litter.  Now it should be cleared to Nigerians that oil is market driven and opening the market for competition will in future benefit Nigeria and Nigerians.

So also subsidy removal will reduce hoarding, smuggling and diversion substantially and stabilize price at the actual product price. It will create labor market stability, potentially creating new jobs through new investment in private refineries and retails

President Muhammed Buhari saving N1.5trillions ($7.5billion) yearly from removal of fuel subsidy is sure to help Nigeria conveniently establish and fund enough gas projects in the Niger Delta area and every other oil producing state which Lagos is now one (as announced by Lagos state governor Akinwumi Ambode) for the next 10 years caring for not only domestic gas consumption but also to improve elasticity power supply.

Now dear friends you can imagine Nigeria with good social development, employments, stable electricity supply, high level of competition within petrol marketers meaning you can buy fuel from any filling station of your desire price not more than N145 per litter. Then Nigeria will no longer be tormented, terrorized, brutalized and harassed by  NUPENG and PENGASSAN the petroleum labour unions that never campaign for the good of common Nigerians but campaign only for their selfish interest and the wellbeing of their families.
Remember good society encourages sound learning and sound/quality learning attitude leads to good education while good education increase knowledge about the world we live in given the present generation quick sight into greater achievements creating better future for generation to come.
