5 Self Care To Overcome Loneliness

loneliness is a disease that psychologically affects the totality of its victims, causing them to see the end of the road even without starting a journey. loneliness is one of the reason why some students fails in their academics because they have been attacked by this virus and infected with unspeakable low self esteem.
According to my findings, 90% of poor students in secondary schools in Nigeria are battling with chronic loneliness condition . this level loneliness can also cause a serious damage to the cognitive domain of a child turning such child to a dull student.
loneliness is the period you lack intimacy, the period of you feel excluded and highly marginalized. loneliness is terrible, dangerous and something that is common but yet it can be overcome
SELF CARE TO OVERCOME LONELINESS
  1. Realize loneliness is just a feeling and not the fact : loneliness chop deep into its victim by creating a sense of attention the the body system of such person. in doing this, it generate to feelings linked to such situation that triggers it. with this, a message is passed to the brain caring this bad feelings so as to create question that will demoralize the entire body system. such question as, why am i feeling this way?, is it because am not brilliant, is it because am poor or because am a loser is that why people don't seems to love me and many more and before you know it, loneliness as started turning all this feeling your having into fact in your brain creating a bigger problem. So the first thing you need to do in overcoming loneliness is for you to realize that loneliness is just a feeling and not fact. feelings can be remove but facts are rigid in nature
  2. Don't isolate yourself (Mingle) : sometimes when you are feeling lonely you might be feeling engaging with people is not the best so you keep to yourself. My dear stop it as you are doing more arm than good to yourself. move out, make friend and share your mind with people around you with a smile. loneliness comes from people not allowing other people to get close them. no mater your self-image there is always someone who is ready to be your friend but you can only meet them if you did not isolate yourself. keeping your own company is the foundation of everlasting loneliness.
  3. Get educated : education is a broad way to overcoming a lot of things in life. to avoid loneliness you can join a book club, library friends, movie clubs, church workers and many more educational activities at can keep you busy and at the same time educate you. you can also walk to consultants for counseling where you can be directed on types of books to read and also get a face to face mentoring with daily instructions on how to overcome loneliness. Araa Edu Consult is one of the trusted hand you can consult (araaeduconsult@gmail.com)
  4. Pay attention to people needs : have never seen anyone become poor by giving. the more you help people solve their problems, the more friends you have around that care about you, showing kindness will go a long way in shielding you from the trap of loneliness.
  5. Be persistence : constant practice of the things discussed in this short write up will help you to permanently overcome loneliness. don't give up even if a group is not working out try another one or its like your not getting up to what your giving just keep trying, keep moving and with time the result will come, keep the friends you make with good heart but be careful as friendship is reciprocal. Spend more time with friends that reward your friendship.

Finally, You Can Now Unsend WhatsApp Messages (Here is How it Works)

After months of development WhatsApp have started rolling out the Delete for Everyone feature, which allows you to recall messages after you’ve sent them. This applies to text messages, gifs, video, pictures… pretty much anything you can send on WhatsApp, however it must be done within seven minutes of sending the message.
How to recall messages on WhatsApp The much anticipated feature is easy to use. Simply highlight the message you wish you didn’t send, select Delete from the menu and then hit Delete for Eveyone. It’s only available to certain users at the moment and only on the latest version of WhatsApp, so head over to the App Store and download all those updates you’ve been continually putting off.
WhatsApp say the feature will be useful if your message ‘contains a mistake’, but we all know the new feature will really have three functions:
1. Damage control when you accidentally post a message to the group chat slagging someone off.
2. Letting you backtrack from a risky message to someone you’re flirting with.
3. The last line of defence when you accidentally send a message about last weekend’s illicit behaviour to your mother.
However, the people you are messaging can still see the message before you delete it (WhatsApp can’t delete things from people’s brains, after all), and even if you manage to recall a message before the other person returns to their phone, they will still be able to see ‘This message was deleted’.
WhatsApp will also let you know if the recall wasn’t successful, just so you know if you need to send a grovelling apology message or not.

Canada: teachers celebrate repeal of anti-labour legislation

For the Canadian Teachers’ Federation, the repeal of the bill, which limited the rights of labour unions, is a major win after an extensive national campaign was launched to end the conservative policy.
“This is wonderful news for democracy and human rights,” said Canadian Teachers’ Federation (CTF) President Heather Smith. “We applaud the Liberal government for living up to its electoral promise by repealing these anti-labour and undemocratic laws.”
Teacher organisations were among the various labour groups targeted by the Bill, known as C-377, which had been pushed quickly through the House of Commons with little debate and no consultation with labour under the former conservative government. The anti-labour measures triggered the CTF “Hear my voice” advocacy campaign with the goal of strengthening the teacher voice in labour rights.
Education International (EI) General Secretary Fred van Leeuwen expressed satisfaction following the withdrawal of the harmful legislation.
"At a time when unions around the world are under ideological attack, and when the values teachers and education unions hold dear are being threatened, it is necessary to fight back against anti-union measures and promote freedom of association and collective bargaining for all public servants," he said.
The CTF also rallied to support the Canadian Labour Congress campaign and joined nationwide opposition, including seven provinces who called C‑377 unconstitutional and argued it would cost millions for the federal government to enforce.

Increasing workloads taking a toll on Scottish teachers

A combination of staffing cuts, revised curriculum and major changes to the exam system have led to growing wear and tear on teachers, according to a survey conducted by the Educational Institute of Scotland.
The report, published by the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS), has found that as teachers begin to breakdown there are signs that pupils’ learning is also poised to suffer. Nine out of ten teachers say that their workloads have increased over the past year, and less than half of those surveyed do not recommend teaching as a career.
The survey was published as standards in Scotland’s schools continue to fall even as Education Secretary John Swinney is preparing further reforms.
“The findings indicate that the pressures on teachers are excessive and growing. A startling 87 per cent of respondents indicated that their workload has increased during the past year – with around a third of all respondents indicating that their workload has increased significantly,” said EIS General Secretary Larry Flanagan. “Another major cause for concern, given the teacher recruitment issues across the country, is the fact that fewer than half of those surveyed would currently recommend teaching as a career choice – this is far worse than in our previous survey.”
Flanagan expressed concern with increasing dissatisfaction among the profession, which jumped from 10 to 19 percent, showing that pressure on teachers is “excessive and growing.”
There is also the issue of teacher pay, which has also been falling for over a decade. Flanagan says that salaries are now 16 percent lower in real terms than they were in 2003. If salary levels are not addressed soon the union says that members will take industrial action, with the 2018-2019 being put at risk.

Two Principal Divert Students NECO Registration Money To Personal Account

The Nasarawa State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) alleged on Thursday that Principals of two secondary schools had diverted NECO fees paid by students.
Its Commandant, Lawan Bashir, told newsmen in Lafia that students of the affected schools – Government Secondary School (GSS) Wakama and GSS Shekkina – did not realise that their fees had been diverted until the examination started.
“It was after the examination started that the candidates knew that they had not been registered.
“Their parents promptly reported the diversion to the Area Inspectorate Offices of Education in the affected locations, who brought the matter to us,” he said.
The commandant said that the affected principals were then invited for “an amicable resolution of the matter”.
“We employed our alternative conflict resolution mechanism and it yielded results; all the parties have agreed to the terms for the repayment of the fees to the affected candidates.
“The Principal of GSS Shekkina has refunded more than N400,000 to 67 candidates, while his GSS Wakama counterpart has agreed to pay the money before the end of June.
“We involved the candidates and their parents in the negotiations so as to resolve the matter without any violence that appeared imminent before we came in,” he said.
Bashir advised members of the public to take advantage of the alternative conflict resolution department of the command to resolve similar cases instead of taking laws into their hands.

FUOYE’s unending crisis

The crisis between the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) and the workers has taken a new turn. The school is accussing Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose of fuelling the strike.  ODUNAYO OGUNMOLA examines the scenario.
The crisis at the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) is not over yet. Last week, a new twist was added to the workers-management face-off when the Vice Chancellor, Prof Kayode Soremekun, alleged that the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, was fuelling the crisis by instigating the workers against the management.
As at the time of this report, the gates of the institution have been shut by workers, who are demanding sundry allowances and colleagues’ promotion.

The twist was added to the crisis on Wednesday, last week, when the union leaders allegedly unleashed terror on memebres of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), who were not part of the industrial action. The aggrieved workers allegedly dragged and beat some lecturers for their failure to join the strike. They were also alleged to have hung fetish objects at the main gate of the university, supposedly to scare visitors away.

How determined is the council to sustain this novel idea?
Yes, we are prepared! This is what is done in other professions all over the world. For instance, you cannot be a chartered accountant, if you have not passed ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) examination . You cannot be a certified engineer if you don’t have COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria) certificates.
Before now  we only registered teachers with their (teachers) certificates. Now that we are fully established, they will have to henceforth sit for and pass before they are qualified to be in the classroom

Caitlyn Jenner Admits She’s Drifted From Kardashian Clan in ‘20/20’ Interview

Caitlyn Jenner admitted that she’s drifted from the Kardashian clan in a 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer on Friday, April 21.
“Some [of my children] I have remained very close to,” the former Olympian, 67, told Sawyer, 71. “A couple of them … I’m a little more distant. I have to admit, I’ll sit here and wonder, ‘Is it because of my transitioning? Or is it because their life is so busy that they don’t call, like, all the time?’”
Jenner added that when she is in touch with some of the members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, she’s the one who’s initiating conversations.
“Nobody calls that much,” she continued. “I mostly reach out to them. Obviously, the Jenner side calls more, but they all have their own lives.”
An insider previously told Usmagazine that the Kardashian sisters were “upset” after reading an advance copy of her upcoming memoir, The Secrets of My Life. “Cait’s talking about the family but didn’t speak to them first, just like she did with the Vanity Fair interview,” the source told Us. “They’re tired of being caught off guard.”
Jenner shares two daughters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, with ex-wife Kris Jenner, and helped raise Kris’ four kids from her previous marriage to Robert Kardashian — KourtneyKimKhloé and Rob. The LGBT spokeswoman also has four other children (BrodyBrandonCassandra and Burt) from her first two marriages.
In a statement to ABC News, the Jenner children expressed their support for their dad. “We love our father and have a deep admiration for her bravery in pursuit of becoming a more authentic version of herself,” the statement reads. “Every family is different with its own unique set of milestones, but we can honestly say that Caitlyn’s gender transition has brought our family closer together and for that we are grateful.”

Emilio Walked in on Pope John Paul II in the Bathroom

this gist hot my people na as i see am na him i carry from USmagazine.......
While Gloria Estefan was guest cohosting the Today show Friday, she told a story about how her husband, Emilio Estefan, once walked in on the Pope in the bathroom.
The Cuban-born singer joined Al Roker and Sheinelle Jones behind the anchor desk to discuss Amy Schumer's recent good deed when she borrowed a mattress store's bathroom and surprised the helpful employee by buying her the best mattress.
Gloria then said her craziest bathroom story was having to pull over at a toll plaza on the way to the airport in Mexico.
But then she one-upped that with an even crazier tale from her music producer husband, who first rose to fame by her side when they were both in Miami Sound Machine. “He ended up in the bathroom with the Pope in the Vatican by mistake,” she began.
“We were waiting to meet the Pope back in 1995. I had performed for him in the Vatican and Emilio had been — poor thing — not able to go for two, three hours for security,” the seven-time Grammy winner said on NBC. “We get in line for the Pope and he goes, ‘I have to go, I have to go.’”
“I go, ‘Babe, you can’t. Stay. We’re in line for the Pope,'” she continued of preparing to meet Pope John Paul II. But nature called a bit too loudly and Emilio couldn’t wait any longer.
“So he escapes and asks somebody for directions,” Estefan said. “He turned the wrong way and opens a door and who’s waiting there? The Pope.”
Caught in the awkward situation, Emilio reacted on instinct. “He says he didn’t know what to say, so he looks at him and goes, ‘God bless you,’” she said.
Amused by how her husband, who she married in 1978, handled the situation, Estefan says she told him, “I think he’s got that covered.”
