2016/2017 Admission Screening Portal

Welcome to the Ahmadu Bello University Portal for the screening of candidates that sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for admission into undergraduate programmes of the University. Please take time to read the following guidelines before you register for the screening.

Qualification for Screening

1. Candidates who scored 180 and above in UTME for all courses.
2. And must have chosen Ahmadu Bello University as their first choice.

Procedure for the Online UTME Screening

Registration for the screening exercise will commence on Monday, 5th September, 2016 and close on Saturday, 17th September, 2016. Applicants are required to pay a sum of N2,500.00 for the screening exercise.

To make the payment, candidates are advised to visit the University PUTME registration portalputme.abu.edu.ng and Generate a Transaction Payment Slip, verify it's your details and the amount to pay. Click Pay via Remita which will redirect you to the Remita payment gateway.

You would be required to either pay online using a Valid Debit Card (Verve,Visa or Mastercard), or you Print the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) and walk into any bank in your locality to pay. You must have the RRR Slip with you.

After making payment online or in any of the prescribed banks, candidates are to come back hereputme.abu.edu.ng to finish their registration by providing missing details.

1. A valid Gsm Number
2. A valid Email Address
3. Preferred second choice of study
4. Contact address

Specify Schools you've attended and Respond to questions on Disciplinary.

Provide your O-level results where available and upload your recent passport-sized photograph, which must be in jpeg format and not more than 100kb in size.

Ensure you print a confirmation slip before signing out.

PRE-ADMISSION SCREENING OF CANDIDATES

1. The University of Ibadan, Ibadan, hereby requests all candidates who made the University their most preferred Institution of choice and scored 200 or above in the 2016 UTME to submit their bio-data and WAEC/NECO SSCE O’L Results ONLINE throughhttp://www.admissions.ui.edu.ng from Monday, 05 September to Friday, 23 September, 2016. A scanned copy of the result should also be uploaded.

2. Candidates should note that any results not released before 23 September, 2016 will not be considered for the 2016/2017 Admissions Exercise.

3. Instructions:-

(i) Candidates should ensure that the on-line forms are carefully filled, following ALL necessary instructions, as "mistake(s)" may lead todisqualification.

(ii) Candidates can return to the portal, up till 23 September 2016 to edit/complete their previous entries or otherwise review and print their submissions. Please ensure that you click "FINAL SUBMISSION" before printing. Candidates should note that no further editing CAN be done after final submissions.

(iii) Candidates are advised to use functional e-mail addresses and telephone numbers to enable the University reach them in the course of the Admission exercise or whenever the need arises.

(iv) Candidates are expected to upload their passport photographs and signatures. The image format for the passport and signature is JPEG and must not exceed the specification. The photographs must be on white background without glasses, cap or headgear.

(v) An online help desk platform on http://www.admissions.ui.edu.ng/helpdesk will be available to handle all genuine enquiries.

4. Candidates should please note that it is only when an 'O' level result is deficient for a course of choice that another result may be presented to complement. Candidates presenting two 'O' level results (6 credits at 2 Sittings) should ensure that the comprehensive details of both results are submitted. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE COLLEGE OF MEDICINE AND FACULTY OF PHARMACY ACCEPT 5 CREDITS AT 1 SITTING ONLY.

5. The deadline for submission of bio-data / 'O' level results may not be extended. Any candidate whose data is not submitted within the stipulated time may not be considered for the Pre-Admission Screening exercise and for admission.

6. Misrepresentation/falsification of documents is a serious offence. Candidates are therefore advised to submit genuine documents only. Anyone found guilty of this offence will be disqualified automatically and in appropriate cases, be handed over to the Law Enforcement Agencies.

7. Candidates are requested to note that payment of the Admission Portal Access Fee of N2, 500.00 is for processing of each candidate’s application. This does not guarantee admission.

8. Candidates are strongly advised to adhere strictly to the guidelines stipulated above for successful completion of the online submissions.

ASUU threatens to embark on strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has threatened to embark on a nationwide strike to press home its demands for the implementation of its 2009 agreement with the Federal Government.

The ASUU Lagos Zone Coordinator, Prof. Olusoji Sowande, said this at a news conference on Tuesday in Lagos.

Sowande said that the union was planning to toe this part after several efforts to ensure that the government address the pending demands, proved abortive.

He said that the 2009 FG/ASUU agreement, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on funding of state universities, breaches of the conditions of service and re-negotiation of the agreement, were still pending.

The coordinator also mentioned other demands like the exclusion of Nigerian universities from Pension Management Company and non-release of NEEDS Assessment Intervention Fund.

He said that funding of state universities, earned academic allowance and renegotiation of the agreement were parts of the outstanding issues.

Sowande recalled that the union had embarked on strike in 2012 and 2013 as part of the efforts to make the government implement the agreement, adding that the issues remained unresolved.

He said that the 2009 agreement provided for a periodic review after every three years which had not been done.

“The review of the agreement should have been undertaken in 2012 and 2015 but that did not happen.‎

“The implication is that our union has shown enough patriotism and understanding on these matters in the last four years.

“We are perplexed and disappointed that both the Federal and State Governments are not responding to our consistent appeals to bring about genuine transformation in the education sector, ‘’ he said.

According to him, embarking on strike has never been a favourable choice as the Students and ASUU members have always suffered the pains more.

“It is unfortunate that the only language government appears to respect and listens to is that of industrial action like strike,”he said.

The don said that the National officers of the union had met with the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu on May 10 and tabled ten-point demand.

He said that the minister had promised that the issues would be resolved within two weeks but nothing had been done till now.

Sowande said that based on MOU signed in November 2013, “Nigerian universities requires N1.3 trillion to revitalise the system’’, adding that the government was already in arrears of N605 billion as at the third quarter of 2016.

He said that the government had refused to release N128 billion and N250 billion respectively for the earned academic allowance of three years after the MoU was signed.‎

“In order to forestall this avoidable crisis, we appeal to all genuinely progressive individuals and groups to prevail on both the Federal and State Governments to commence release of funds for the listed purposes.

“This is to arrest the brewing and potentially combustible situation in the Nigerian university system before it degenerated into a serious conflagration,” he said.

Intending students are hereby encourage to stay focused and clam as they put there things ready for the screening date.

The delay was attached to the unexpected shout-down that affected the school website for almost a month and now that the site is back processing is back on course.

2016/2017 Amodu Bello University screening exercise will commence next week

I was privilege to get this information from a reliable  source within the institution that school screening exercise portal  will be open on Monday the 5th of September 2016 for  commencement of the 2016/2017 undergraduate admission screen exercise and all process will be online for candidate that chose the school as their institution of choice and scores above 180 during the last UTME exam

While I was surfing the Internet I stumbled on this picture from Nijaloaded and my hearth cut.

How are this people going to make good grades with this way of studying and after all this academic battles caused by selfish and uncaring politician this students will graduate from school and still stay back home for years without job.

Please everyone I want you to help with this question as it for once happen in this country Nigeria that Senators were owned salaries? I don’t think so but yet they will keep saying the country is broke that’s why the government can’t make provision for necessary social infrastructures that would have enhance good and conducive environment for academic pursue in country.

For now I will not want to say much that this I will say is unfair attitude towards the youths of this great country and I will not stop voicing till my voice count.

Nigeria youth stay calm for one day the light will come for powerful libration and eradication of malicious leaders in this country.

A time is coming the youth of this great country will fight for freedom under this blood sucking politicians that are taking us into slavery in our own country.
